Since the Global Financial Crisis, the financial markets are undergoing fundamental changes and banks and financial institutions are facing increased challenges through digital disruption, new technologies and new capital and regulatory standards amidst revenue and cost pressures.
This forum, organised by Financial Markets Association of Singapore (FMAS) and co-hosted by Bloomberg, is especially relevant to the treasury and markets function in banks, financial institutions and corporates who face a major challenge in a how to stay ahead of the game. COVID-19 has further accelerated the transition towards a more digital customer base and workforce but has created a world where growth prospects are highly challenged.
Whilst the market volatility seen in 2020 and now 2021 has generally cause much realignment and transformation of the financial markets business, there is an open question about how to align the cost base with revenue drivers for the next phase.
C-suite leaders within our industry, more than ever before, need to carefully navigate their way through this tricky period by making important, strategic investment decisions today about their business, their people and their future. We are keenly aware of these challenges the industry is facing and it is our intention through the Asia Financial Markets Forum that the themes and speakers will bring new insights and thought leadership that’s required to help our leaders of today and nurture the leaders of tomorrow. The topics will showcase the current opportunities and challenges within our business and will deliver content that is thoughtful and unique. These events would provide an opportunity for regional Financial Markets practitioners to come together and will bring them closer to the market leaders and decision-makers in the industry. This is especially relevant to the treasury and markets function in banks, financial institutions and corporates who face a major challenge in how to stay ahead of the game.
We held a virtual Prelude event in January this year which featured a keynote speech by Ms Jacqueline Loh, Deputy Manging Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and many thought leaders in our industry. In October 2021, we are holding a 2-day Hybrid Forum on the 27th & 28th October on the continued theme of “The Asia Financial Markets in the next decade”.
The content will focus on the three important themes that we have identified which are:
Participants attending this forum will be key professionals in the treasury and capital markets ecosystem including banks, regulators, buy side professionals, C-suite leaders of the financial markets community and important intermediaries such as vendors and brokers and platform providers.
